Hear God's Word
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."
(2 Timothy 3:16)
Small Group Study
Hughes Small Group Study is a collection of gatherings at the Church and members' home throughout the week.
Fall Small Group Bible Studies
We invite everyone to join in a small group Bible study this fall. We have a great variety of topics and times to choose from. Bible study deepens our faith and relationship with God and our fellow Christians. Small groups build fellowship and increase our understanding of the Word through discussion. Hearing from others in a group can give new insights or discover shared thoughts with one another. We hope each one of you will consider joining one of the groups offered or create a new group to add to what we have.
"Christianity's Family Tree" by Adam Hamilton. This is an eight-week study of the different denominations of Christianity. As usual, with Hamilton's work, it is well-researched and presented. By the end of the study we should understand our differences and similarities with our brothers and sisters in Christ. The study will also introduce us to "new" spiritual practices which will enhance our faith journeys. This study will be offered two different times and led by Rev. Ken Hawes.
- Monday evenings beginning September 27 in the church parlor 6 – 7:20 p.m.
- Wednesday afternoons (Coffee Klatch) beginning September 29 at 1 p.m. in the church parlor

“Ethics of the Fathers” led by Carol Whitney. What does it mean to you when you read that Jesus was called “Rabbi”? Was this just a title of honor or did it say something about the times and culture in which Jesus lived? Come and learn more about the “Ethics of the Fathers” in a new small group study this fall. Reflect on Jesus’ teachings in light of the Rabbinical leaders of Jesus’ time. Learn how those teachings are still important in our lives today. Please contact Carol Whitney at the church (301-949-8383) or at home for further information.
- Tuesday evenings beginning October 5 in the church library at 7:30 p.m.
