Mid-County Hub Community Outreach and Program Assistant Reports To: Mid-County Hub Program Coordinator Employment Type: 15 hours per week Annual Salary: $19,200 FMLA: Exempt Upon a successful first interview, the preferred candidate(s) must successfully submit required documentation, including proof of SERV Safe certification, I-9 work-related documentation, and successfully complete a Safe Sanctuaries background check and DMV check prior to being offered the position. These documents may be brought to the interview if desired. Position Summary The Bilingual Community Development and Program Support Assistant plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Mid-County Hub at Hughes United Methodist Church by strengthening community relationships, promoting civic engagement, and supporting the implementation of programs and services that benefit individuals and families throughout Montgomery County. The individual in this position will work closely with the Program Coordinator to expand community outreach initiatives, strengthen strategic partnerships, support grant compliance, and provide administrative and operational assistance that contributes to the overall success of the program. Essential Responsibilities Community Development •Develop and maintain relationships with residents, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, and government agencies. •Promote the mission, programs, and services of the Mid-County Hub through community outreach activities. •Participate in community meetings, resource fairs, workshops, and events organized by the Hub and its partners. •Identify emerging community needs and communicate opportunities for developing new programs and initiatives. •Assist with volunteer recruitment, orientation, and coordination. •Help strengthen partnerships with public and private organizations that benefit the community. Program Support •Provide administrative and operational support to the Program Coordinator. •Coordinate logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings, and community events. •Maintain accurate records of participants, volunteers, and program activities. •Assist with data collection required for reports, program statistics, and grant compliance. •Prepare educational materials, forms, and resources for participants and volunteers. Community Relations and Customer Service •Assist participants and visitors in both English and Spanish with professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity. •Provide information about available programs and community resources. •Translate documents, forms, and informational materials as needed. •Serve as an interpreter during meetings, events, and interviews related to Mid-County Hub programs. Administrative Support •Prepare correspondence, reports, and administrative documentation. •Update participant databases and tracking systems. •Organize and maintain both electronic and physical files. •Assist with monthly reporting and grant documentation. Qualifications •High School Diploma or equivalent required. •College coursework or a degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Administration, Sociology, Communications, or a related field is preferred. •Previous experience with nonprofit organizations, community programs, or human services is highly desirable. •Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal). •Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience working with culturally diverse populations. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). •Experience using databases and participant tracking systems is preferred. Compensation is subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax withholdings and other required deductions. Additional benefits include Workers’ Compensation coverage, paid time off, and paid sick leave as outlined in the Personnel Guidelines of Hughes United Methodist Church Employment Conditions This position is contingent upon the availability and continuation of grant funding. Mid-County Hub Assistant Warehouse Driver Reports To: Logistics and Distribution Supervisor Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Annual Salary: $45,000 FMLA: Exempt Position Summary The Warehouse Driver Assistant supports the collection, transportation, storage, and distribution of food and essential supplies while ensuring safe, efficient, and respectful service to the community. Upon a successful first interview, the preferred candidate(s) must successfully submit required documentation, including proof of SERV Safe certification, I-9 work-related documentation, and successfully complete a Safe Sanctuaries background check and DMV check prior to being offered the position. These documents may be brought to the interview if desired. Essential Responsibilities •Assist the driver with food pickup and delivery routes. •Load, unload, and organize food products and supplies. •Support receiving, sorting, inventory rotation, and First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures. •Prepare orders for food distributions. •Maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and warehouse facilities. •Perform basic vehicle inspections. •Maintain delivery and inventory records. •Follow all safety procedures and assist with special events. •Dispose of trash and move food pallets safely. •Maintain the cleanliness of the Hub grounds and event locations. •Assist with cardboard recycling and food waste management. •Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs. Qualifications •High School Diploma or equivalent. •Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred. •Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. •Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and punctuality. •Bilingual in English and Spanish. •Valid driver's license. Mid-County Hub Diaper Distribution Coordinator Reports To: Mid-County Hub Program Director Employment Status: Part-time (20 hours per week) Annual Salary: $20,800 FMLA: Exempt Upon a successful first interview, the preferred candidate(s) must successfully submit required documentation, including proof of SERV Safe certification, I-9 work-related documentation, and successfully complete a Safe Sanctuaries background check and DMV check prior to being offered the position. These documents may be brought to the interview if desired. Position Summary The Diaper Distribution Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Mid-County Hub Diaper Distribution Program, ensuring the efficient distribution of diapers and related supplies to eligible families. The Coordinator supports program operations, maintains inventory and records, coordinates volunteers, and helps ensure compliance with grant requirements. Essential Responsibilities •Coordinate diaper distribution activities and maintain inventory. •Organize and prepare supplies for distribution events. •Welcome and assist program participants with professionalism and respect. •Maintain accurate distribution records and required reports. •Support and coordinate volunteers during program activities. •Communicate with community partners and program staff as needed. •Ensure compliance with program policies and grant requirements. •Perform other related duties as assigned to support program operations. Qualifications •High school diploma or equivalent required. •Strong organizational and communication skills. •Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace). •Ability to work independently and with diverse populations. •Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and perform routine physical tasks associated with receiving, organizing, and distributing supplies.
